Bleach

Bleach bored me at first. Since so many people loved it, I tried to watch a good number of episodes before I gave up. I eventually gave it one last go, through the manga. The characters and developments in the manga Soul Society arc not only hooked me; they made me look back and appreciate the main character group as well as the anime more. However, I still recommend the manga. The pacing is superior and the fight scenes are better illustrated. And there are NO dancing dolls in the ending credits.
